The fracture between the so called 'Gothic' letters and the Latin ones moves on from the Middle Ages through the Modern History and keeps on expressing both cultural and political issues until the end of the Second World War. This Essay aims to retrace the historical and social motives which brought to the creation and the development of the Faktur types until its recent circula-tin in the underground culture.
