Peer Review Process

Articles submitted for publication are initially screened by the editorial board and the directors of each session, in order to verify whether the article fits into the journal’s main scope. At a second stage the article is forwarded to peer-reviewers.

Bibliothecae.it uses a double-blind peer review system, which means that manuscript author(s) do not know who the reviewers are, and that reviewers do not know the names of the author(s). The editorial board chooses reviewers whose expertise most closely matches the manuscript’s topic and invite them to review the paper.

Peer-review has the aim of providing author(s) with the report of an expert, who can propose minor or major changes in order to improve the article’s structure and content. The author is expected to consider the received suggestions. The editorial board will verify that the suggested improvements have been included in the final version.

The review process is managed through the platform OJS.
