Informazione e causazione: due enigmi che si chiariscono a vicenda

Informazione e causazione sono due concetti centrali in numerose discipline, entrambi molto controversi, rispetto ai quali l’articolo offre una panoramica sulle principali interpretazioni e definizioni disponibili, con particolare attenzione per quelle che li mettono in relazione reciproca, a volte spiegando la causazione con l’informazione e altre volte l’inverso. Fra le teorie dell’informazione vengono esaminate soprattutto quelle ‘qualitative’ (che ne prendono in considerazione anche gli aspetti semantici) e ‘integrative’ (che cercano di trovare una radice comune alle varie forme che essa può assumere), con particolare riguardo per quella della piramide DIKAS (data, information processes, knowledges, awarenesses, self-awarenesses). Dall’analisi di DIKAS e di altre teorie dell’informazione e della causazione (anche alla luce dei concetti del monismo neutrale informazionale, del principio di ragion sufficiente, dell’entropia e della differenza) emerge il forte nesso intercorrente fra i concetti di informazione e di causazione, che può risultare utile per rendere entrambi più chiari.
