Le collezioni delle biblioteche nella prospettiva della “biblioteconomia critica” statunitense

Questo articolo intende offrire una visione delle collezioni nell’ottica della “biblioteconomia critica”, in inglese Critical librarianship o, abbreviato,
CritLib, i cui principi sono stati applicati negli USA a tutte le tipologie di biblioteche e a tutte le loro funzioni. Infatti in ambito bibliotecario statunitense il focus si è rivolto sempre di più, durante gli ultimi anni, verso le tematiche relative a “Diversità, Equità e Inclusione” (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion), identificate appunto tramite l’acronimo DEI oppure EDI, con un filone di studi, di ricerche e un certo “attivismo”, in modo da rispecchiare sempre più, a livello di servizi e di collezioni, non soltanto le diversità delle proprie comunità, ma anche la giustizia sociale.
